Overview

_Danger Above and Below is the first part of a custom campaign in Gears of War. The player takes the role of COG super-soldier Marcus Phoenix. Marcus investigates an old mausoleum after hearing rumors of Locust activity. Locust forces ambush him along the way, and he must fight his way through. A Reaver equipped with explosives drops bombs on him, blocking his way forward, as he runs through the level.

Investigate an abandoned graveyard

The level begins with a quiet and uneventful stroll through an abandoned graveyard...

...but it turns out the graveyard isn't quite abandoned.

Avoid Reaver Airstrikes and Find a Path Through the Rubble

The final area is within sight right from the beginning, but the bridge has long since been destroyed.  The player must find another route.

After avoiding a Reaver airstrike, the player's path is once again blocked.  He must explore a newly opened area to continue forward.

_Defeat the Locust hordes

The player is able to flank the enemy or attack from multiple fronts throughout the level.

Locust defend their outpost, and attack the player from defensive positions.
